Senior citizen surprised 1Malaysia people’s aid (BR1M) has gone up

A senior citizen of Malaysia was surprised to learn that their benefits in the1Malaysia people’s aid (online BR1M) had been increased a great deal. The People’s 1 Malaysia Aid (BR1M) is a programme that came up as a brainchild of Mr Datuk Seri Najib Razak- the Prime Minister of Malaysia. His popularity, especially among those on the lower ladder in the socioeconomic group increased tenfold. The programme came in 2011 and the first batch of money released in the year 2012. The senior citizen, a seventy two year old, Thien Hin Yuen said he didn’t expect that the increase was going to happen as he had always thought that the promise to increase the funding was just a mere promise.
The aid’s distribution is divided into some four different categories. The first category is entitled to RM650 is a category set aside for households that are earning a cumulative total that’s less than RM300 every month. The second category is the category comprising of individuals who are single, above the age of twenty one and are earning less than RM2000. This category will be entitled to RM300 per person.



The third category is that which involves family households earning between RM3001 & RM4000 cumulatively. This category will receive RM450 while the fourth category comprises of old citizens who are above sixty years of age and live alone. These are entitled to RM650.

Thien Hin Yuen said that he received RM500 last year and that money was enough to cater for his daily expenses. He added that the RM650 that was paid to them this year came as a total surprise to him. He was speaking after receiving his share of online BR1M after it had been cashed out to the people by Daruk Seri Musa Aman, the chief minister. Thien Hin Yuen lives with his wife together with their two children and was happy for being supported by the government of Mr Datuk Seri Najib Razak- the Prime Minister of Malaysia. He also said that the cash will be used in the purchase of basic and essential commodities, hoping that the programme would be continued for a long time if not forever.
Meanwhile, Daruk Seri Musa Aman, the chief minister said that the Barisan Nasional’s (BN)government had plans to cushion the hard lives the people are living during this time of economic hardship by planning to continue with the aid.
Budget 2015 will be present on 10 October 2014 by the prime minister which will involved the official announcement regard br1m.
